Library Rules

  1. Strict silence must be maintained in the Library. Every one should ensure that no other reader feels disturbed.
  2. Pupils are expected to behave in a disciplined manner in the library. Any act of disobedience or misconduct would render him/her liable to suspension from the use of library.
  3. Books from the school library will be issued to the students during the library period as assigned in the class time-table.
  4. Books must be examined by the students before leaving the library and if any damage is found (pages torn or missing etc.), it must be brought to the notice of the librarian. Otherwise the borrower will be held responsible for the damages.
  5. Students are not supposed to exchange issued library books amongst themselves.
  6. Books must not be kept with student for more than a week.
  7. Failure to return a book on expiry date will invoke a payment of fine of Rs. 5/- per day.
  8. Borrower who loses a book will replace the book with a fresh one or pay twice the cost.
  9. All library books must be returned, 15 days before every summative assessment.
  10. Certain documents are intended to be used only in the library such as encyclopedias, reference books, textbooks, rare books, current & bound periodicals etc.
  11. If a book/document is not returned within 30 days of its due date, it shall be treated as lost and action shall be initiated to recover the cost of the document as per the prevailing rules.
  12. Borrowers are responsible for the books they borrow. Books lost, torn or damaged (tearing of pages, underlining, making notes, damaging of binding etc.), shall attract serious action including replacement of books concerned.
  13. Use of eatables in the Library is strictly prohibited. Utmost care shall be taken by all to keep library clean and books intact.
